GAETI Day 21

Today is our follow-up workshop from the summer. I it was exciting to see everyone and to find out that we all have incorporated the things that we learned over the summer into our classrooms. It was great to see Dr. Bracey and Mrs. Latham. Dr. Bracey as usual gave us some valuable information and tools that can be used to enhance our creativity in our classrooms.

For lunch Dr. Kun Huang help us set up a twitter account and introduced other helpful sites. Dr. Sherman-Morris help us to create a Google Earth tour.

Today it was great to see everyone  and gain some informative information that I have found to be very useful. I can't wait until our next workshop.

Day 19: GAETI

Today started out so exciting, we skyped with a person for Turkey. He was so informative and excited to talk about his country and their culture. He talked about his work and the educational system there. I was amazed to find out the time difference. I want to visit Turkey so that I go shopping in the mall. I learned that it has 6,000 stores. Imagine the fun I could have there, it would be a shop til you drop vacation. Later we started to work on our lesson plans.

Today I went out to lunch Jenn Clark and Trevia Brownlee, we had a good time.  It seems like we have know each other forever but we met 3 weeks ago. I am going to miss talking to them but we will keep in touch by using some of this wonderful new technology I have learned.

After lunch we went to art and presented our art projects. Everyone had some beautiful artistic creations. Thanks MRS. LATHAM for all of your patience and guidance throughout this process. You are a great  TEACHER!!

After art went continued to work on our lesson plans and our web page. I am finished but kind of nervous about it. Well today is over and we only have 1 more day. I am looking forward to tomorrow.

Day 16: GAETI

Today we made adjustments to our video clip from Friday. We later had to go out with Stanley and record a video. It was fun going out doing a video. Later after lunch we started working on our lesson plan. I don't know why but I got brain freeze. I guess it seems like a lot and I started to feel overwhelmed. I know that I just have to calm down and put my thinking cap on. I know that this assignment is to help me become the best lesson planner and to teach my students about history in a fun and informative way. I want them to be able to apply what they learn and to retain the information for more than just one class period.
